Yves Hazan is the founding principal of Hazan Hollander. He qualified at the University of New South Wales in 1986 with double degrees in Computer Science, BSc(Computer Science) and Bachelor of Laws, LLB. He is Legal Practitioner and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales and of the High Court of Australia, called to those positions in 1987.
Yves specialises in intellectual property, commercial law, litigation, technology and science law.
He is recognised as a strategist in commercial negotiations and litigation, bringing his substantial legal experience and technical expertise to a broad range of commercial issues including mergers and acquisitions, patent, copyright and trade mark litigation, IT contracts, outsourcing, and electronic commerce. He is also an experienced negotiator and has successfully resolved a number of complex technology disputes. He has been instrumental in heading Australian teams in world wide litigation, including in the trade marks and patent area for the pharmaceutical industry.
In the IT area, he has represented and represents a range of technology companies, including Microsoft Corporation, Prime Computers, Solution 6 and many others. He is experienced in the legal issues that face this industry, including:
Yves has written widely in the area of IT Law and copyright. His comments and submissions to the Copyright Law Review Committee (CLRC) are referenced in the CLRC's report on computer software protection and formed part of their recommendations.
In addition to memberships of Legal Industry professional bodies, Yves is a Member of the Australian Computer Society and is a Board Member of the renowned publication, Australia Intellectual Property Law Bulletin.

Peter Whitehead is a Senior Associate at Hazan Hollander. Peter qualified at the University of Technology, Sydney in 2000 with double degrees in Applied Chemistry, BSc and Bachelor of Laws, LLB with First Class Honours. He is a Legal Practitioner and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales and of the High Court of Australia.
Peter specialises in Intellectual Property Law with particular focus on trade mark, trade mark practices, domain name and related intellectual property law. He has handled a wide range of intellectual property litigation involving copyright, trade mark and revocation actions and has successfully acted for clients in the Federal Court of Australia.

Vic Hollander is senior staff consultant for Hazan Hollander. He holds a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering as well as a Masters of Chemical Engineering from New York University . He is a U.S. Licensed Professional Engineer.
Vic's experience is extremely diverse. He was supervisor of the Electrical Power Subsystem of the Lunar Mission Project, where he was responsible for the design and fabrication of the batteries that were instrumental in the success of the Apollo project. Readers will remember these batteries were responsible for the rescue of the astronauts during the Apollo 13 mission. Vic maintained supervision of the power utilisation and distribution on the project, and was involved in writing and negotiating subcontracts to various vendors on the project.
Subsequent to this period of his career, Vic did a stint in the business world by launching various businesses. He held the role of CEO in several businesses, and was successful in merging with competitors and bringing these firms public. These experiences have developed his skills in consulting and evaluating businesses, as well as successfully negotiating on behalf of clients.
Vic is a life member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, and has written several papers in the field of molecular or mass transfer.

Giulia qualified at the University of Technology, Sydney with double degrees in Science (majoring in Medical Science), BSc and Bachelor of Laws, LLB with First Class Honours. She is admitted to the Supreme Court of New South Wales as a Legal Practitioner and Solicitor.
Prior to working at Hazan Hollander, Giulia worked as a paralegal for 3 years, building expertise in civil litigation and debt recovery. At Hazan Hollander, Giulia handles and deals with a wide range of matters, including Australian and international design and trade mark applications, intellectual property litigation, debt recovery, civil litigation, building disputes and conveyancing.
She has acted for clients in the Local, Supreme and District Courts of New South Wales, the Federal Magistrates Court of Australia and the Family Court of Australia. Giulia also has experience in the negotiation and settlement of many types of commercial transactions, including loan agreements, distribution agreements, leases and deeds of assignment.
In the area of family law, Giulia's friendliness and approachable nature help ensure that clients receive the best support and legal assistance possible in difficult family situations, including divorce, property settlements, and custody arrangements.
Charmaine Atal is Hazan Hollander's Administrative Assistant and has extensive experience in retail and customer service and is a graduate of Media and Technology form UNSW. Her skills in administration and IT support ensure the smooth running of the Hazan Hollander office and the maintenance of a first-rate IT system. Charmaine is presently completing her law degree at the University of Western Sydney, and undertakes many paralegal functions at the firm.
Charmaine is the first point of contact for clients, administrative requests and accounting, where her friendliness, attention to detail and efficiency helps ensure that we can provide our clients with the best service possible.
