Peter Whitehead
Peter Whitehead is a Senior Associate at Hazan Hollander. Peter qualified at the University of Technology, Sydney in 2000 with double degrees in Applied Chemistry, BSc and Bachelor of Laws, LLB with First Class Honours. He is a Legal Practitioner and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales and of the High Court of Australia.
Peter specialises in Intellectual Property Law with particular focus on trade mark, trade mark practices, domain name and related intellectual property law. He has handled a wide range of intellectual property litigation involving copyright, trade mark and revocation actions and has successfully acted for clients in the Federal Court of Australia.
Peter has experience:
- Managing trade mark portfolios worldwide and regularly counsels clients on Australian and global prosecution, acquisition, management, licensing and enforcement of trade marks and related intellectual property such as domain names and copyright;
- In the related areas of trade practices and consumer protection and is experienced in advising clients on enforcement in the areas of passing off, misuse of confidential information and breaches of the Trade Practices Act;
- In a broad range of non-litigious commercial matters including joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions and franschising;
- In commercial litigation having successfully acted for clients in the Supreme Court of New South Wales in a number of commercial matters, including joint venture disputes.
